Shipping & delivery
How much is shipping?
Freight delivery is quoted upfront — no surprise shipping charges. We arrange freight delivery for kilns and pottery wheels. Kilns ship by freight with liftgate delivery. Alaska, Hawaii, and remote or limited-access locations may involve a surcharge we quote transparently. For a specific order, ask for a quote or see our Shipping Policy.
Choosing your equipment
How do I choose the right kiln size?
It comes down to what you make, your space, and your electrical service. Our Choosing a Kiln guide walks you through it, and the Kiln Selector narrows it to a size band in a few minutes.
What's the difference between your kiln sizes?
We group kilns by interior width: Small (under 16″), Medium (16″ to under 20″), Large (20″ to under 25″), and X-Large (25″ and up). Most working studios land on a Large.
Do I need a special outlet for my kiln?
Many medium and large kilns require a dedicated 240V circuit; some small kilns run on a standard 120V outlet. Always check the model's specs — see our Electrical & Venting guide or ask us.
What tools can help me choose?
Start with the Kiln Selector, the Electrical Readiness Checker, and the Learning Center guides. When you're ready, get a quote.
How long does delivery take?
We'll confirm lead time on your order. Many kilns are built to order, so timing varies by model and destination — we'll give you an honest estimate rather than inventing a number here.
What is liftgate delivery?
The freight truck lowers your kiln to the ground with a powered lift, so you don't need a dock. Inspect your shipment before signing and note any damage on the receipt. More detail: Freight Receiving Guide.
Returns & warranty
What's your return policy?
See our Returns & Refunds page — 90-day returns on every model, as long as it's new and unused (never fired or installed) in its original crate or packaging (required). Special-order and built-to-order items, such as non-standard voltages and pug mills or mixers built for a customer, are not returnable. Request an RMA at sales@kilnnation.com before shipping anything back. All returns (kilns, pottery wheels, and studio equipment) carry a 20% restocking fee, the customer pays return freight, and original shipping is non-refundable. Full details are there and under the store refund policy.
What if my kiln has a problem later?
Your equipment is covered by the manufacturer's warranty (terms vary by brand and model). If something goes wrong later, contact us and we'll help you start a claim with the manufacturer.
